Course Scheduling

Select “Band 1” or “Dance Techniques 1” – for course selections 

ALL STUDENTS ARE MEMBERS OF THE MARCHING BAND (This is a curricular requirement for CCPS) If auditioning for Jazz students must be enrolled in Band class as well. Select Jazz 1 as well as Band 1 Concert Band – No Audition required (automatic placement when you enroll for band).

 

Audition Details

Color Guard Clinic: April 30th (10:00am – 3:00pm) for all interested students 

• Auditions: May 26th and May 27th (5:00pm – 8:00pm) followed by quick parent meeting at 8:15pm *located in Naples High “blue” gym. 

Percussion Auditions: May 10th (5:00pm – 8:00pm) followed by quick parent meeting at 8:15pm.

Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Jazz Auditions for Incoming Students ONLY May 24th and May 25th (5:00pm – 7:00pm).

 

Please EMAIL Mr. Villacis at villas8@collierschools.com if your student plans on auditioning for Symphonic Wind  Ensemble or Jazz Band for the 2023-2024 School Year. Otherwise, your student will be automatically enrolled into Concert Band (no audition required).

• Auditions will be by appointment only for new incoming students May 24th and May 25th (5:00pm – 7:00pm) – You may select one day or the other, but please understand that you may not get the day you want.
• SWE Auditions are 5 minutes in length and include: All 12 major scales (FBA Scale pattern, as many complete octaves as possible), a prepared piece (percussionists have both mallet and snare), and a short interview.
• Jazz Auditions are 5 minutes in length and include: All 12 blues scales (FBA Scale Pattern, as many complete octaves as possible, swung), and a short interview. Jazz Drum set players will be asked to play 12 bars in a  variety of styles and should prepare swing, rock, funk, bossa nova and 2 step styles.
